Job Summary
Responsible for all aspects of the installation, maintenance, inspection, operation and repair of HVAC systems.

Responsibilities

  • Performs routine repairs and preventive maintenance to a variety of building heating, ventilating, air conditioning, and refrigeration (HVACR) equipment including air handling units, chillers, heat pumps, exhaust fans, fan coil units, variable air volume boxes, motors, pumps, air distribution machinery, pneumatic and digital controls, hot and chilled water distribution and variable volume systems
  • Performs maintenance work including detection and correction of HVAC systems
  • Assists other technicians on emergency and corrective maintenance
  • Troubleshoots and repairs EPA refrigerant class I, II and class III equipment
  • Accurately maintains equipment inventory and historical records
  • Serves on the Emergency Response Team as required
  • May be required to serve in an on-call status and remain work-ready when scheduled for an on- call period or rotation
  • May be required to perform job related duties other than those specifically delineated in this position

Required Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Three (3) years of experience repairing and troubleshooting residential or commercial HVAC equipment
  • Valid State of Georgia Driver’s license

Preferred Qualifications

  • Vaild State of Georgia HVAC license

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities

  • Knowledge of mechanical and HVAC machinery
  • Knowledge of appropriate safety standards including occupational hazards and necessary safety precautions in the use of tools and equipment
  • Knowledge of ASHRAE standards
  • Knowledge of inner workings of heating and cooling units, and refrigerators and freezers
  • Knowledge of federal regulations regarding conservation, recovery, and recycling of refrigerants
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematic drawing charts and technical instructions
  • Ability to understand and comply with building, electrical, fire, and plumbing codes and other technical standards and specifications as required
  • Ability to safely handle, dispose, and document chemicals
  • Able to handle with multiple tasks or projects at one time meeting assigned deadlines
  • Good interpersonal, initiative, teamwork, problem solving, organization, communication (verbal and written), time management, and project management
  • Basic knowledge of computer applications and programs associated with the position (i.e. Microsoft Office suite)
  • Customer service skills and phone and e-mail etiquette
